California residency

Anyone know how difficult (ie do i need significantly higher board scores, etc) it is for an Out of state applicant to get into a california residency from IM, EM, or gen surg??? Thanks

Resident or not, everyone needs higher scores when applying to CA residencies because the CA spots are in high demand. The sun, the lifestyle, the pleasant attitude... it has a strong draw. Not to mention that a HUGE chunk of the country's med students have roots in CA and are eager to move back closer to their extended families.
