According to one of the Medscape surveys, 3 % of residents were offered day care allowance.

I was wondering which California programs offer this or any other type of child care perks? In particular, I'm interested if any of the University programs offer such a thing.

I assume it doesn't matter which specialty you are in.

Thanks!

Are you sure they weren't just talking about tax-free childcare accounts set up by the benefits office? We had the option of setting aside income to be used specifically for a childcare service for the fiscal year, deducted from our paycheck each month (like paying into a 403B sorta). We also had access to a "Parents in a Pinch" service that offered pre-screened babysitters on short notice at a reasonable rate that was negotiated by the hospital (we got a certain number of days per year access to this service). Neither of these are a "day care allowance", but they are the sort of thing some people responding to a survey might check the box for. They certainly can be helpful. Disclaimer: not California.
