ABOUT ME:
I was in an abusive relationship for the first two years of college so my grades were not stellar but I was able to transfer to a top UC given my story. I was diagnosed with 2 auto immune diseases and my mother suffered from 2 strokes (part of why I stayed). My father also abandoned us a few years ago. I worked full time in college to put myself through school and currently am debt free :) I wanted to go into law for "justice" purposes, given my situation. But, I've realized I want to heal through physical means-- and feel myself heal more through that. So, is it ok to mention abusive relationship and how its changed me? Or will I be seen as "weak" (I know, never victim blame but trust me...it's still a problem.)

So, heres an ending to the novel. I want to be realistic with school choices but also don't want to sell myself short!

You do not need to go into the abusive relationship. If your grades in your first 2 years of college are brought up in an interview you can mention it then. Concentrate more on why you want to go into medicine or attend a particular school you are applying to.

UR app looks pretty decent! No reason to bring that up on a PS! Best wishes, add more MDs!
