I'm a foreign trained dentist who's been accepted by a DDS advanced standing program. However, i've also got an interview with a perio speciality program. For me personally, I feel the future of perio may be slim as GP's are placing their own implants and Perio gets less referrals every year. If I did do a perio residency, am I eligible to also practice general dentistry in the state of Texas? Thanks for your help

This question is for a Texas dental board. Seriously, call or email them. It could be the case, that you wouldn't be able to practice in Texas at all after Perio residency because you don't have US DDS or DMD
Generally, specialists are required to only perform specialty procedures, if they advertise themselves as specialists and charge specialists fee
