I have a relative who wants to help me with paying some of the interest on my loans while I am in med school (on my Direct Stafford Unsubsidized loan). Will my financial aid office see this? I am worried that if they do, they might decrease my financial aid in future years.

This would be on loans that I have already taken out and are accruing interest.

Thank you for your help, and sorry if something similar has been posted before--I searched and didn't see anything.

The school develops a yearly Cost of Attendance for all students. You are allowed to borrow or get scholarships/grants for anything up to that amount. If you have special circumstances they will increase that number for you. I can't imagine them ever decreasing the COA for someone unless you already had been approved for an increase because you needed to pay those loans.
