Can high MCAT save a low BCPM?

I say yes too, but naturally it makes it tougher. If your application has weaknesses you have to make up for them some other way, like high MCAT or lots of relevant experience or whatever. Once you get below a 3.0 it gets really really difficult though.

I'm inclined to agree, but it really depends on how low you mean by "low."

A high MCAT won't save a 2.7 BCPM GPA no matter what you've heard.

I don't think it is 36 hours w/o sleep. Maybe more like 36 hours w/ very little sleep, something like 2 hours. But there may be times when it is 36 hours straight. But I think it depends on the speciality. On Hopkins 24/7 the 1st yr surgical intern said there were times when he worked a 140 hour work week. Oh joy........

It certainly helped in my case. I have about a 3.5 GPA overall but only a 3.3 BCMP GPA. I scored high on the MCAT and I've been accepted to four schools.
A good GPA trend helps a lot as well, especially if your GPA is lower. Anyway, good luck!

in my case I had a 3.3 cum and 3.3 bcpm and a 33 MCAT (i guess i like 3's). anyway, my trend in gpa went up since my sophmore year and i am in at 2 schools. give it a shot, a 3.5 ain't bad.
