Can It Be Done? Final school list- WAMC

Hi all,

Thanks in advance for all the help; can’t believe I just started using SDN, incredible community we got here.

Applying this cycle and just kinda rounded out my final school list- looking for advice on how it looks.

cGPA: 3.42
sGPA: 3.45
Huge upward trend: 3.75+ GPA over my last ~ 70 credits total.
Post bacc classes: all prerequisite courses- 4.0 (roughly 14 credits)
MCAT: 501—> 506 (well balanced)
ORM- residence in IN, Non-trad path

Great ECs (1000s of hours as scribe, 2000+ hours clinical research, plenty of volunteering/philanthropy work, shadowing, leadership positions, etc). Phenomenal PS and why medicine story.

Am I aiming too high?
My DO list consists primarily of some of the more established schools— do I still stand a chance?

Obviously know my MD chances are low (1/3 chance) but still will apply to at least 10 on that list.


Any advice on how my chances look with this list would be very much appreciated. Thank you all!

You should receive several interviews from your DO list. Your GPA is too low for St Louis. You could add Rush and NYMC.

Thank you for the response! Would you say it’s a overall solid school list (DO and MD)?

My dream schools would be: Western-Pomona, AZCOM, Tuoro CA/NY— are my stats competitive for a II at those schools?

Regarding the DO schools, any reason why you suggest NOT applying to CHSU, Nova, AT still (Mesa)?

Also, would it be okay to still take a shot at Kaiser, Loma Linda, CalU? Or should I just save that money haha
