When I was 19 i used to be a messed up student in college. I had F's in classes and a 1.6 gpa. Now im 27, I started going to school again when i turned 25. I retook all those math and science classes and got A's and B's in them and raised my gpa to a 3.6. The school that I want to apply for is Nova. how does Nova Pharmacy School accept people? Do they look at recent grades past grades? I just got done with pharmacy tech school and doing internship right now at hospital and so far I liked it but I want more. DO i need like a bachelor in chemistry or biology ? I ask Nova to send me information but they just sent a little paper saying thank you lol.

Your grades will not go away unless you apply to something with Academic Forgiveness, like USN's program. If you apply to Nova, you'll have to use PharmCAS and will need to disclose your previous grades and that 1.6 gpa will factor into your current cGPA, regardless of whether you've re-taken them or not (They won't be replaced). Some schools average the grades though.

To address your question about 4 year degrees... the jury is out on every state but CA. Here in CA, you essentially need a 4 year degree to be admitted, even though (except for Tu) it's not a hard requirement.

Have you checked out PharmCAS's "School Information" page? If not, I recommend you do so - It might help a bit!

I agree with Passion4science, you should check out PharmCas, it was really helpful for me and apply to schools that do not take into account science grades more than 5 years old like, Thomas Jefferson or Wayne State, just giving some examples. All science grades taken will count for PharmCas but will not count for the school's own GPA policies. Hope this helps!!! Buena Suerte
