another quick question....

i've only been taking federal stafford loans throughout the 4 yrs of medical school... i dont recall chosing my lender ... but i guess my school uses American Education Services (AES) as the lender for all my stafford loans.

so, must I consolidate through AES now? And use their policy/criteria of forebearnce/deferment? AES does offer consolidation, forebearnce and deferement but..

Can I take these stafford loans and use another lender instead?

thanks guys

No. If all your loans are with one lender you must use them for consolidation. It is always in your best interest to have more than one lender. If you have more than one lender than you can choose any company for consolidation.
