Simple and stupid question that I should really be asking my Premed advisor (too bad he's an idiot).

I haven't heard from a bunch of schools yet, so assuming that interview season is coming to a close, can I count those as rejections?

Unfortunately, if you don't get an interview, you will be rejected. There's still time for some schools, though.

Thanks. So non rolling schools like Penn and Columbia I can essentially count as rejections?

Columbia's done interviewing. In fact, they mail acceptances and rejections next week.

I actually heard a story one time of someone getting into Howard without interviewing. Their admissions office is notoriously disorganized. The story was someting like "student applies, doesn't receive interview invite, gets waitlisted, get accepted." I don't know if it's really true though.

Don't know about any allopathic schools, but Michigan State's DO school (COM) pretty much stopped doing interviews this year, so the whole class next year will have been accepted w/out interview.
