Hello,

I have received offers of acceptance from Touro NY, and Western Pomona.

I am still debating between the two schools as I'm not too sure on how to judge which medical school offers the better clinical sites/opportunities for the future.

Additionally, I am wondering will the state where I obtain my medical degree affect where I can practice afterwards?
I recommend Western over Touro-NY. The latter has poor COMLEX II pass rates

Answer to second question is no.

Your visa question is more complicated.

You will be able to get a residency in any state, and your visa will be the same regardless of what state you're in. Some residency programs do have a regional bias to them -- they tend to invite people who are from the area or have a link to the area. So, to some extent, what school you go to may affect what residency programs may be willing to invite you. If you choose Touro, you might have more trouble getting a residency in Cali -- although if you are originally from Cali or have lived there in the past, it might not matter. But quality of school matters also, and this is all a moving target so impossible to be certain when you're ready to apply.

Your F visa can be converted to an OPT visa for your PGY-1. Getting an H visa takes months -- you won't have one by July, unless you meant July of your PGY-2. Not all programs offer H visas -- they are much more expensive and complicated than J visas. But there's nothing you can do about that, you;ll need to deal with that when you get there.
