Hello everyone,

Im not sure if my questions were answered previously in other threads....
Sorry for those that have answered these before...Thanks in advance.

1)Do you know the exact breakdown of the C DAT
-Survey of Natural Sciences...# of questions and time?
-PAT...# of questions and time? What are the areas covered?
-RC # of questions and time? This seems a bit hard....are the real
passages just as long as in the Kaplan book? What is the best way to
study for this?
-Carving...how complicated is the carving and time given?

2) Are you allowed to take in a calculator (for some chem
calculations)???
What about a highlighter?
Do they give molecular weights in the chem section or do you get a
periodic table?
Is the survey of natural sciences section on the exam detail specific as
compared to the Kaplan book???

Any other helpful info would be great. Thanks.

Hello everyone,

Im not sure if my questions were answered previously in other threads....
Sorry for those that have answered these before...Thanks in advance.

1)Do you know the exact breakdown of the C DAT
-Survey of Natural Sciences...# of questions and time?

70 questions, 40 bio and 30 general chem. You get an hour.

-PAT...# of questions and time? What are the areas covered?

90 questions, 60 minutes. All the same types of questions as the American DAT

-RC # of questions and time? This seems a bit hard....are the real
passages just as long as in the Kaplan book? What is the best way to
study for this?

Yeah it's similar to what's in the Kaplan book. 50 questions and 3 passages in 50 minutes. It's not so much that the questions are hard, the real problem is managing time. Just do a few practice tests to get your timing down

-Carving...how complicated is the carving and time given?

5 minutes to analyze the piece of paper with your carving pattern and then 30 minutes to draw lines and carve... I'd suggest you buy the carving book by IQ publications because it has sample figures in it... also go to the CDA website and order practice soap from there, don't use chalk. You might wanna order around 24.

2) Are you allowed to take in a calculator (for some chem
calculations)???

Nope

What about a highlighter?

Nope

Do they give molecular weights in the chem section or do you get a
periodic table?

You get a periodic table

Is the survey of natural sciences section on the exam detail specific as
compared to the Kaplan book???

The chemistry is supposed to be comparable but the biology is supposed to be a lot more detailed on the DAT than it is in the Kaplan book, so it's reccomended you supplement it with some other book.

Any other helpful info would be great. Thanks.

If you're planning on writing it this November and to this point you're unsure about what's even on the test.. I'd suggest you maybe wait and write it in February (assuming you're in classes right now). Otherwise start studying like crazy and you should be good.
