Canadian with no cosigner - possible to afford med in the States?

Hi,

My girlfriend really wants to go to med school and I think with her stats she can get into one of the private schools like Albany, Finch, etc. Problem is, (1) she's Canadian, (2) has zero funds to pay for it, and (3) has no cosigner. Does anyone know if she has any options? It's really unfortunate when qualified individuals can't pursue med school because of costs.

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure you could get some private loans (ie Citibank) or whatever for med school. The govt loans are probably off-limits to Canadians, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Lots of private schools give "grants" (although the funds are limited) which is basically a nice way of saying they'll just waive some of your tuition.
