I posted this elsewhere but never got any replies.

Does anyone know how a Canadian might go about getting into a D.O. school in the US? Are there licensed D.O.s in Canada even? Most D.O. schools require a reference letter from an osteopathic physician. I don't think there even are osteopathic physicians in Canada. Therefore, how can I get a reference letter from one?

HELP! I am a Canadian who wants to apply to a D.O. school, but you need a reference letter from a D.O. physician and I can't find one. My family doc doesn't even know one who practices here. What can I do?

Dear Moo:
At last count, there were 8 American-trained D.O.s practicing in Canada. I am a Canadian and a third-year D.O. student. For more details, you'll need to contact the Canadian Osteopathic Association--the AOA should have the address. If not, contact me directly.
