Canadians going to USA on F-1 visa

Hey, so do schools just mail us the I-20 forms and we show them at the border when we are moving in for the first time?

Do you guys know how long this will usually take for them to issue me a visa on site etc? I'll be likely doing this at the airport.

The schools usually sends you an I-20 through mail. It only takes about an hour to get everything done. They stamp your I-20 and they give you an I-94 on the spot. It's a pretty easy process...nothing to get worried about...
