Alright, we all know how much admissions offices HATE it when you call them so I decided to go with email. I emailed the UC schools where I was shot down to ask them if they could discuss my app and the areas I should improve upon. I've received no response and it's been almost 3 weeks. Does anyone know a good time to call them or another strategy I should take??? I feel it's extremely important for me to get feedback from them especially since I'm reapplying to these schools. If you've had experience with this at the UC's, please share!

I have made a few of these consultation appointments, although none for a UC school, by calling up the admission office. They all seemed pretty happy to set one up for me...so far anyways.

i am not sure about alll the uc's, but i am sure that davis and uci are still in the process of choosing thier class for next fall- thus i am sure they are busy. why don't you try them later on like the summer or fall? or why don't you call up a non-uc school that you applied to and ask them for advice on you application. do you have a premed advisor to help ya' out? good luck

I read in a previous post that someone had contacted UC Davis in a similar manner and they said you should contact them in April if interested in discussing your application.

UCI is very slow in responding to emails at times so no surprise there.

Bottom line, if you don't hear beack from them. Email again in April.

I will TRY to do the same. But we'll see.

I agree. I think the counselors are generally helpful people, especially when they are not busy (ie during the summer). I think it's normal to feel anxious to find out ways to improve your application since people are already applying for summer jobs. Maybe there is a student representative of the admissions committee whom you can contact, although they may also be occupied with coursework.
