cardiology and pharmacy

that would be a bit redundant. bordering on salamander.

possibly meant clinical pharmacy specialize in cardiology? DO A SEARCH FIRST PLEASE!!

Errr ya, salmander.

I see the message has been fixed. I think this has been discussed previously, but I can't imagine there being much demand for that. Clinical pharmacist's period aren't in huge demand, and I can imagine specialist positions are pretty non-existant.

Also, in my opinion, the desire of having a clinical pharmacist is his overall knowledge of medications in general. Cardiologists know their meds backward and forward, far better than I do, so I can't see what a clinical cardiology pharmacist would be needed for. Instead, a cardiologist may look to the clinical pharmacist to watch out for other non-cardiology related medication problems in their patients that they would be unable to pick up due to their lack of knowledge there.

I agree with Garyrph. as a pharmacist your specialty is knowing all medications, no just focusing on cardiology drugs.....

I would love to!!!

And no need? Well theres always room for "improvement" 😀

There are so many cardiology drugs, and they all have so many interactions, I think it would be VERY beneficial for a a hospital/doc to have a clinical pharmacist with a specialty in cardiology

they have specialitis in oncology, why not cardiology

Over here at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, we have at least one clinical pharmacist who specializes in cardiology. In fact, that's what she teaches at our school. Honestly, there aren't a whole lot of these folks around, just at the huge academic medical centers like UMC.
