Hey guys. I am a new MS4 strongly thinking about cards in the philly/jersey area. Just wondering, if anyone can get me insight on which philly/NJ IM programs are more likely to land me a cardio fellowship (preferably in the same area, but not essential). Thanks in advance for any input.

The programs I am wondering about are:

Upenn (I know everyone's gonna wanna say this)
Temple
Jeff
Drexel
Albert Einstein
Lankenau
UMDNJ-Newark, Camden, New Brunswick

Geisinger and Penn State Hershey are further away, but I would consider them.

U Penn
as for the rest, I don't know.
I would say the docs at the university programs at big U hospitals tend to be the best connected, and thus can pull strings to get you in places. However, of course each place that has its own cardiology fellowship is going to keep some of its own residents for the fellowship program, some more so than others. If you hit it off with the cards faculty at one of these placed during your interview, and continue to do so as a resident, that would be another way to get in.
