I am intersted in cardiology. I am in the process of applying for residency. What is the criteria used for selecting students in cardiology (USMLE scores?, how good your perform during your residency? anything else?). I would appreciate any information on this.

Jeff•

Cardiology is a fellowship finished AFTER the completion of an Internal Medicine residency. Thus, matching is more likely to be based on specialty exams rather than USMLE scores, letters, and residency evaluations. See the post entitled "Cardiology Residency" for more information.

Good luck.
