There are so many opportunities in this field. The most important place to start is to learn about the different standards used in the USA.

Get familiar with: CCHIT and HIMSS.

Buddy, no one is going to map your life and career out for you. Use the search button, speak with faculty and leaders of industry, etc...

It will more than likely prove to be difficult to land a great job in your chosen field of expertise that will rival what you would see as a clinician.

You need to bring more to the table than degrees -- get some experience. The business world could not give a rat's a** about any basic science publications or research.

You really have to build your network, get connected with people, ask probing questions, and set some goals for your life. What do you want to be doing 5 years from now? 10 years from now?

I think the problem you are running into, and Joe and the other poster mentioned, is that there is NO roadmap to success in medicine or business. There are key traits such as drive, intelligence, and social skills. However, every question you asked has no wrong or right answer -- If someone tells you taking this degree or whatnot it would not mean you are more successful.

Successful people do not have degrees or tests they've taken in common, they tend to have the same character traits though.
