Your uncle this, your uncle that. Who cares what your uncle thinks? What do YOU think? What are YOU interested in? Shadow some doctors. Find out if medicine is something YOU want to do not what SOMEONE ELSE is telling you to do.

Welcome to the world of adults.

Sorry, I'm used to trolling on the bodybuilding misc forums.
What Doctor Strange said is sound. Medicine has to be a personal choice and one should definitely not be in it for the money. Retrospect on your life, see if this is what you really want to do.

I doubt my values are correct but you can make about $100,000 (+/-) as a family doctor.
As a neurosurgeon/spine orthopedic surgeon you can make ~$700,000 a year.
As Dr. Oz, you can make millions a year. I think he does surgeries like once a week, on a Wednesday? I heard..

Either way, you gotta be in it for the right reasons and that choice should be only yours, not your uncle's.

lol i know, you guys are right, it doesn't matter about the money... you would be in it for all the wrong reasons if that was the case
