Hello, I made a very dumb mistake on my Primary App. Under my College Information, I mistakenly put My degree earned date as May 2018, when I am actually getting my degree in August. I had forgotten that I registered for Summer 2018 graduation instead of Spring 2018 graduation, as I had a summer class to take, and thought it would be easier to just sign up for that date, as I was still allowed to walk in May. I’ve completed all my credits and my degree is basically complete, but I had to finish biochem up for Pre med requirements. Will this be a big problem? Can I call AMCAS about this? I submitted my primary back on July 4th. Thank you.

You don't need to bump a thread that you only started twenty minutes ago. There are folks who can answer your question, but it's a Sunday afternoon and they may not see this thread for a few hours. Besides, there's nothing you can do about your application until tomorrow anyway. So relax, go find something else to do, and check your thread some time this evening.

Also it is recommended not to use photos of yourself as your avatar.

Sorry about that, just nervous cause I realized this out of nowhere and I thought I had everything perfect on my app.

I understand that, it hasn't been so long since I was a nervous applicant, too. But you're tormenting yourself right now to no avail. Don't get yourself into a panic. FWIW, I don't think it's a huge problem, but I'm not sure and I'm also waiting to see what some more knowledgeable folks have to say. Try to go enjoy your afternoon and check back here tonight. 🙂

I feel your pain.

I don't know if the following is good advice, but I would let it slide to the schools you applied to, until they offered you an interview, and then I would send an update saying roughly:

"Dear ADCOMs, I made the mistake of mislabeling the month of my graduation as May 2018, but realized it was August 2018. Thank you for your time, sincerely, *full name followed by AMCAS ID number*".

That way, you won't have to update 17-40 schools of your mistake, and it will only be relevant to schools that actually give you an interview.

But I'm not an ADCOM and can't even tell you if its worth mentioning to your schools via E-mail.

Serious question, how are you going to survive medical school if you're this nervous just from the app process?
Hey now, this part’s a little stressful too. I was just thrown off cause I realized this out of nowhere, and it’d be tragic to not get verified from this one thing.

It totally, completely, and absolutely doesn't matter when you graduate, so long as you've done so by the time you submit your final official transcript to the one med school you will attend. AMCAS will not change it. It will have zero impact on your application. Schools will not care. Do not update them on this matter.

We'd like to hear back what you are told.
I actually called AMCAS and the employee told me that they don't even check over that section in terms of verification, and that I could simply send emails out to schools about the discrepancy in the date. I was going to, but then you also mentioned that schools would not care, so I'm just wondering what to do.

Do nothing.

Anyone watch Seinfeld? @Goro is the library cop. "Hard feelings what do you know about hard feelings? Ever have a man die in your arms? Ever kill somebody?"
