cclcm... i love you!!!

just thought id throw that out there.

anybody else in this boat, and think its one of the coolest schools out there?
i know alot of people hate it, but thats totally understandable... its a school thats really made for a specific type of student, and i think im one of them.. i just really want them to know that... how do i do that (besides a letter of intent)?

thanks all

I want to kill you. While your usage of exclamation points emphasized your love of the program, to me it meant you had news. Like an acceptance. So, I feverishly clicked on the link, anxious to see when you interviewed, how you heard, etc...

Just kidding, I don't want to kill you, but you did increase my blood pressure! 😀 I too was very impressed with the school. I don't really know where to rank it for myself- it's just so different from all the others, and its novelty is a concern as well...

You could send an update letter, or just call and ask to speak w/ Dr. Franco about a "question" you had, and then mention how great you thought the school was as well. They're happy people, I'm sure it would be OK to do.

It's a good idea to call about your interest - I wrote my interviewer an email saying how much I liked it, and literally got an acceptance call 5 days later, during which the dean mentioned that she was excited that I was so excited about it.

haha, sorry daijimmers

right after i posted it i was like shoot, people are gonna think its an acceptance post..hahaha oops

i like your idea about talking to dr. franco.. it does seem a little bit odd though to call and say i really like the school.., i feel that she would think im a wierdo or something

Ha ha, I was fooled, too, dajimmers. And I agree with you guys; I thought the school was really neat. Most med schools are fairly similar, differences in curriculum and grading policy notwithstanding. Cleveland Clinic is definitely unique, and it won't be right for everyone, but it's a great concept.

interviewed 11/29, accepted snail mail 1/4, hated cclcm, not my kind of program,

How long after your interview did you send the email? I know they review the applicants pretty quickly after the interview so is it best to forego snailmail?

My interview is in one week--I am mad excited as this is my number one choice!

I sent the email 5 days after my interview, and heard back 5 days after that. I don't know if it really had an effect, but since I got in, it obviously didn't hurt!

I'm sorry...I am completely clueless as to what makes cclcm so special?
In fact, until today I hadn't even really heard of it.

Could you say a little something about the school? I am very interested and curious to find out more about it...

thanks guys.

Grrrr I really liked CCLCM and I'm on a post-interview hold...

Thinking about sending them a letter of intent.

Or they could just save me $.39 and an 20 minutes and send me an acceptance letter.

It's a small, research-based, PBL school affiliated with Case Western as well as the Cleveland Clinic. Check it out if you're interested: http://www.clevelandclinic.org/cclcm/

Sooo, while we all wait and wonder...what other medical schools are you guys looking at. Mine are CCLCM, Duke, and UNC. UNC gave me the thumbs up, now its up to CCLCM and Duke to may things interesting. Withdrew from all other places, in-state at UNC, its like going to medical school for free. Still, I think CCLCM would be a great place to go, I really like Dr Franco and the rest of the faculty's attitudes. Easily the best set of interviews, Duke's were way too short.

I interviewed at cclcm on 1/19 and the director said the admissons committee was meeting the next day. Has anyone else heard who interviewed the same day?
