I am an asian female from Georgia.
cGPA: 3.7
sGPA: 3.58
MCAT: 505 (PC 124/CR 127/Bio 128/Psych 126)
State of residence: Georgia
Major: Cellular Biology from my state school
Clinical Experience: Volunteered in both my local hospital back home and at a hospital in China for 3 months (60 hours at local hospital, 300 hours for China hospital)
Shadowing: Roughly 40 hours of an OBGYN
Research: I did two semesters of research in a Cell Bio lab. No publications.
Extracurriculars: Tutored at my school's resource center for a year (180 hours), volunteered at hospital in Peru for 3 weeks (40 hours)
Employment: Commissioned retail job for 2 years (1000 hours probably)

There's probably stuff I'm missing. Wow, I can't even think clearly. I'm so upset over my MCAT score.

Should I apply this cycle?

I don't have a list. Was just wondering if you thought I have a chance at MD schools.

If 505 is your only MCAT score, you can look in the MSAR for programs whose 10th% MCAT is about 28 and that matriculate at least 15% OOS.
By far your best chances for MD are IS.
You are good for DO.

I suggest:

Mercer
MCG

Quinnipiac

Oakland U Beaumont

WVU

EVMS

Rosy Franklin

MCW

Creighton

NYMC

VCU

Loma Linda (but read their list of don'ts)

Albany

Netter

Any DO school, starting with PCOM-GA, CUSOM and all three VCOMs.

Okay, so can you help me cut down my list? I went through MSAR and got all the schools with my range and with decent amount of OOS interviews:

Albany

Creighton
Drexel (Really like)
EVMS
Emory (what the hell....they accept lots of students from my school)
Netter
GWU
Hofstra
Indiana
Temple
Loma Linda
Loyola (Really like)
MCG
MCW
Medical U. of South Carolina
Mercer
NYMC
Oakland Beaumont
Ohio State
Penn State
Rush
St. Louis University
Thomas Jefferson
State U. of NY Downstate
State U. of NY Upstate
Stony Brook
Texas AM
Texas Tech Foster
Texas Tech
U. of Texas San Antonio

Cincinnati
Illinois (Really like)
Iowa
Kansas
Massachussets

These are the schools on your list where you have a chance for an interview with your stats. Many of the schools on your original list are state public schools that accept very few OOS applicants with your MCAT.

You could add Western Michigan and Roseman (new school accepting applications sometime this year).

Hahaha, I put Loma Linda on my list, went on their website, took it off my list.
