I am a African female. Doing my undergrad in Arizona. just wanted to know of my chances and if you have any feedback on the school list
Major: Chemistry
Minors: Biochemistry, Business Administration, and 2D Art
cGPA: 3.81
sGPA: 3.72
MCAT: Taking July 17th....hoping to score in the top percentile
EC's:
Shadowing: 60 hours, surgeons and primary care physician
Research: around 160 hours. Did two separate projects, under two different programs (no publications).
Volunteering: Week Medical Brigade
Clinic only 23 hours because I just started this summer (cant put in too many hours due to studying for MCAT)
Raised money for the American Lung Association for 6 years (family endeavor)
Church Youth Group
Leadership: Secretary for African Student Association Club, do volunteering in the club as well
Resident Assistant for two years
Preceptor- helped tutor students in chemistry
Chemistry Department mentor
Accepted to attend a diversity conference
Jobs: Teaching Assistant( taught a general chemistry lab class)
Grader/Proctor for Nursing Chem course
Other part time jobs (cashier, library clerk, desk assistant)
Hobbies: Volleyball/Art
LOR's: 2 science faculty who taught me, in process of obtaining third
Resident Assistant supervisor
African Student Association faculty fellow
Lab Post doc (not principal investigator because the post doc observed me and mentored me during my program)
Church Youth Group Leader
School List: Most are just picked on locations that I think I will like, but if you have any advice as to which to keep or add I would appreciate it.
