Hi all,
I go to a Texas public school and plan to apply May 2019. I still have this Spring semester left and haven't taken the MCAT.
Currently I have a cGPA of 3.81 and sGPA of 3.75.
I'm worried about my ECs. When I apply I will have:
~100 hours clinical volunteering (patient check in at local ER)
~50 hours non-clinical volunteering (animal shelter)
~50 hours of shadowing
No clinical work experience
~1 year of non-clinical work experience (after school program counselor)
Other stuff:
I recently started a cookie delivery business. It got pretty popular, but after a few months I couldn't handle it while in school full time, so I'm selling it.
I am also in the Texas Army National Guard, but I am being administratively (honorable) discharged soon due to an injury. I'm not considered a veteran because I never deployed.
I have been working with a local doctor to start a physician shadowing/assisting program at the local hospital, but it's been tough getting it up and running.
