Hello,

I am a Virginia resident graduated with a 3.84 cumulative GPA and 3.86 scGPA. My parents are central asian. My MCAT score is 509 (128/124/128/129) (I am not so great with CARS).

I have received my B.S. in Biology
160 hours of volunteering at the hospital
300 hours of leadership in a health club
200 hours of volunteering at a health club (diabetes testing events, blood pressure events, soup kitchens, kid nutrition events)
30 hours of volunteering with a science club
50 hours of shadowing (2 physicians)
600 hours of working (Retail and Office Assistant)
700 hours of research (500 at psychology department and 200 at psychiatry department)
- 1 coauthor publication, 1 first author (both from the research conducted at the psychology department)

I have also received a scholarship from the U.S. Department of State

My question is: Since my CARS is low, what are my chances at the MD schools listed below?

This is the list of schools I have compiled:

VCU
UVA
EVMS
Howard
George Washington
Georgetown
Jefferson
Penn State
Albany
Wake Forest
WVU
Drexel
Temple
NOVA MD
Duke
UNC

Thanks in advance for your help!

Remove Howard since you are not from the African American community. Penn is a far reach. You could add these schools:
Virginia Tech
Penn State
Seton Hall
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Medical College Wisconsin
Rosalind Franklin
Loyola
St. Louis
Creighton
Tulane
