Your stats are borderline, but your well-above-average extracurriculars increase your chances. Your least-selective state school has a mean acceptee GPA of 3.7 and MCAT of 32, so you'll need to apply broadly.

You might consider continuing to take additional upper-level science classes during your off year to raise your BCPM GPA further (giving fodder for update letters to schools you apply to, in addition to your other planned activities).

I would re-take the MCAT, that 8 will hurt you.

Unless you want to go to an alternative medical school (carribbean, DO...both of which I would not advise because other than the 8, you have an application that could get you into a real medical school)

Thanks to both of you for your input. I am pretty much coming out in the same place. The retake of the MCAT is tough though as I wouldn't want the verbal and bio scores to go down. At least for this go round my inclination would be to explain the PS score of 8 partially based on fact that I had not taken physics 11 yet. In any event my plan is to push forward with the upcoming application process.

Reasonable chance at George Washinton U, Tulane, Michigan State. A chance at EVMS, U Vermont, USCarolina, Toledo, NYMC, U Kentucky, Rush, Drexel, Loma Linda. The others seem less likely, but you won't know unless you try.
