chances for ftd's in aegd programs

is it possible for ftd's to get into aegd programs? what are the chances? i applied to advanced standing prog this year & so far no luck with any school. so i thought i should apply for aegd & spend 1yr working on patients & in the mean time do my nbde part2 exam so that i wont be wasting any time. is their a lot of competition to get into an aegd prog. pls friends, i need your inputs on this
