Chances for Texas Schools + School advice for anything out of state?

cGPA: 3.75
sGPA: 3.66 (C in BIO 112, I struggled with my method of approach, but definitely learned from that)
MCAT: 510 (130/126/125/129)
Major: Biomedical Sciences
Minors: Business and Neuroscience
Research:
  • Research assistant in a neuroscience lab at Texas A&M's medical school
  • Working on a manuscript, had one poster presentation
  • Former research assistant in the Infant Cognition Lab
Leadership Experience:
  • Team leader for a manuscript writing team (manuscript in progress)
  • President for Alpha Epsilon Delta 2018-2019 year
  • Used to help train incoming students when I was in the infant cognition lab
  • Mentor for Torch and Laurel one semester
Nonclinical Activities:
  • Member of Alpha Epsilon Delta
  • First violinist in the University Philharmonic Orchestra
  • Worked as a barista for almost a year (spring of freshman year - fall of sophomore year, it was during this period where I got that C in bio)
  • Volunteered at food bank, will resume in the fall - about 40 hours
  • Teacher/Parent Success Manager at the Parinama Academy - started this month, 4 hrs/week minimum
  • Total nonclinical volunteering hours to date: 90 hours, working on this though.
Clinical:
  • Shadowing: 128 hours so far, split between Sleep Specialist, Oculofacial Plastics Surgeon, Bariatric Surgeon, General Surgeon, Orthopedic Surgeons, and OB/GYN. Increasing this summer, currently there
  • Total volunteering hours: 213 hours. Split between two summers and currently increasing this summer, currently there again

If you're a Texas resident, I wouldn't bother applying OOS, personally. Your stats match that of the avg. matriculant based on your GPA and MCAT alone. If I were you, I would spend less time shadowing and more time nonclinical + clinical volunteering. That said, have you applied this cycle (for EY2019) or are you waiting to apply next cycle (EY2020)?

EY 2019! I submitted primaries in June, working on my secondaries for texas schools (should be done by this week) and waiting on AMCAS to be verified
 
Should I be super worried about the low bio/biochem? I'm not sure what happened, the lowest I've scored on practice exams was a 127. @Goro I've noticed that you've commented on specific section scores in the past. Any thoughts?
