Hi everyone,
I'm a PGY1 so I realize this may be a bit premature, but I plan on doing a Child/Adolescent fellowship and am a Canadian MG with a J1 visa.
I'm interested in eventually working as junior faculty/clinician in a metropolitan area in the US affiliated with a major University. Anyone have any experience/knowledge of junior faculty or academic positions that offer J1 waivers?
There's also a good chance I might go back to Canada as they have adopted exam equivalency so I would only need to do the Canadian psychiatry boards and not their licensing exams.
My decision will depend on what the J1 visa waiver job prospects look like in the US.
In addition, if anyone has advice or experience about J1 visa waivers in California for psychiatry it would be very helpful.
