Interested in a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship? Looking to explore the beauty and lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest?

If so, we have an opening available for a first-year fellow in our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship starting July 2020. Applicants who have completed their PGY-3 psychiatry training or higher are eligible, but competitive candidates who have completed PGY-2 can be considered, pending availability in our adult program for the last year of adult training, following completion of child and adolescent psychiatry training requirements. Unfortunately, our GME program is unable to sponsor visas for training positions

Our fellowship is a community-based program, utilizing multiple community agencies and services as rotation sites for our child and adolescent psychiatry training program. Our aim is to prepare graduates for excellence in practice in a rural to small community setting. Our program has a strong focus on psychotherapy, along with appropriate focus on biologic treatment modalities. We believe in a team-based approach, recognizing that healthcare in the future seems to be heading towards integrated, collaborative care. Samaritan has an outpatient psychiatry consultation service integrated into our adult and pediatric primary care clinics. We are open to osteopathic and allopathic applicants. Our program is accredited by ACGME.

Our program is sponsored by Samaritan Health Services, which is a non-profit multi-specialty community healthcare group with 5 regional inpatient hospitals and multiple outpatient clinical care practices. Corvallis, OR is in the Willamette Valley, and is home to Oregon State University and conveniently located nearby to the Pacific coast, the Cascades, and larger cities, such as Portland, Salem, and Eugene.

We welcome interested applicants and invite you to check out our program to see if our family may be a good fit. I have attached a more detailed program information description containing more detail. Interested applicants should reach out to Kimberly Wilcox, Program Coordinator (contact information below). Review for consideration will require an updated CV, 3 letters of recommendation (one of which should be from the adult psychiatry Program Director), USMLE or COMLEX scores, personal statement, and a certification from PD of completion of psychiatry residency training.

Sincerely,
