Hi, Im a DO and Im planning on applying to MD IM programs. I wondering how many letters from Internist would be good. Currently I have letter from FP assistant director, a letter from Hospitalist and a letter from a cardiologist which Im planning to do a fellowship in down the road.

Is it ok to have only letters from 3rd year? and would it help to have more letter from Internists? And as a DO student applying primarily to University programs, would it help to have a letter from a University program?

Yes, it's a bad idea to only have LORs from M3. You need a Sub-I LOR and a Chair's letter (the "need" for that one is debatable, but it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Since you only have 4 total slots, you need to decide which of the 3 LORs you should ditch. I vote the FP unless it is completely amaze-balls.
