I am considering buying a review book from a friend of mine who has two in his possession. But before i do,i would like your feedback on those who have used it or know of it. All i know is that is "BRS Gross Anatomy" by Chung.

Is it a good book for anatomy or should i invest in another? Also is it worth buying review books at all for anatomy? I am not going to use it to study in advance, but will primarily use it to study (or review) while i take the course and as i read the primary text. Thanks

I like it and have found it to be useful. One correction: the moderator band serves as a conduction pathway -- Chung claims that it serves some other purpose.

IMHO, this book is a must-have. I wouldn't have gotten through some of my gross written exams without it. I tried reading and/or skimming Moore (the standard text), but it's too damn much... granted the blue-box clinical correlates are useful; otherwise, saying that Moore is verbose is an understatement. Chung is nice and concise, and perfect for written exams. The only caveats to this are 1) you need to study it with an atlas in hand, because the few pictures that are in Chung are generally not very complete, and 2) even though it claims to be a board review book, don't use it for this... it's too detailed to study for boards with. On the other hand, for those nit-picky gross anatomy written exams I highly recommend it. In fact, I don't think you really need anything else besides a good atlas (I personally like Netter the most). This was the first BRS book I ever bought, and to this day the most useful, although I'm about to start second year and have heard that the Pathology BRS is a must-have... hope this helps...
