Found this Instruction while trying to get answers that my (and I'm sure everybodies) med. recruiter could not answer. It seems that GMO tours are luckily becoming a dying reality within the Army. However, that ever present Uncle Sam "Rule" is in there: "Those not selected for Army training will be granted a deferral of their active duty entry to perform residency training in a civilian program unless the needs of the Army deem otherwise." Gotta love that remark...You just gotta ask is it a gamble you are willing to take.

Anyway, if anyone else finds good info out there. Help us out for us possible class of 2010 HPSPiers.

Here it is

The HPSP and related enlistment is a contract between yourself and the US government. They need to leave some wiggle-room in the contract so that in a case of a serious national emergency, they can redeploy you as needed. Even with 9/11, Afghanistan, and Iraq I don't think that you'll find any prior HPSP students that have been 'screwed' by that verbage, so I wouldn't worry to much about it.
