Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Actually I have options to live wherever I end up at my acceptances / wl schools so I should give myself more credit

 if ur going to medical school you should give urself a lot of credit!

And yea - I don't mind dealing w/ all that silly stuff.. if it means I save a lot of green in the end!

All about the green... :luck:

I'm sorry! Sounds contradictory, but go for a run! 🙂

gotta get through the workday first 🙁

it doesn't help that i tweaked something in my upper back/shoulder at the gym last night. what's sad is that i wasn't even lifting when it happen-- i was laying on the floor stretching, and i tweaked it when i tried to stand up

oh no! hahaha that's just rotten luck. Laaaaameee!

Noooo no no. There's no diversity in breakfast food... Taste no, but importance yes

And sorry to hear about your back, but it was kinda funny 😛

another note to self: don't go out tonight... Exercise some self control

if i were limited to one type of food for the rest of my life, it would be cold cereal and skim milk.

Mine would still be breakfast... but it might be french toast

or chocolate chip pancakes

mmm

dammit now I'm hungry (and yes I just had breakfast a few hrs ago)

Oooo I've got magnolia cupcakes in the fridge...

Is it weird that I warm my milk for cereal?

I used to do that. Then I got lazy.

Actually - what I realized was, if I didn't have to warm my milk - I could sleep for an extra couple of minutes. The choice was obvious

no way! i love the cold milk with the crunchiness of cereal or cookies. yummmm

ive done the same thing. i was sitting on the floor in a meditation position, then when i tried to get up i dislocated my knee joint a lil, i was like WTF...took me a couple mins to pop it back in.

This is pretty much the exact same through process I went through

Also - :hello: back from my 2-3 day hiatus! Any big news? My condo searches in philly are going... interestingly. Ugh - this is too much freakin work.

ha yea, it looked way too regimented for me. also, realtors say that its still too early to look right now, but i like getting an idea of the market.

morning, sorry you're sick. i'm here with my little one because the infection in her finger is still giving her a fever.

blah today's gonna be a really hard day...can't believe it's been 3 years🙁 neVer forgeT

twas a sad day....

eww crunchiness, no way. i like it soggy, soft, and warm, not unlike...i prolly shouldnt go there

Yes yes and yes, and yes please don't go there.

I'm with you Dingy... Warm milk makes everything so much better

I've been going through the whole rent/leasing an apt vs. buying a condo and comparing the monthly mortgage fees to rental fees.

Ugh 🙂 Looks like if you can make the down payment, then the condo is a better choice than an apt.... apparently  But man, these realtors are SHARKS

You have to be careful, though. I've heard that ~5 years staying in a house/condo typically makes it worth it. Apparently that's when the appreciation of the property overcomes the amount you've lost paying interest and taxes. And with condos, just make sure that you're looking at the total monthly cost, not just the principal + interest. I've seen some people completely forget about taxes (which in some areas can add tons to your payments) and monthly association fees they'd be paying after purchasing, which made their payments really hurt their budget. I'm guessing you already know that, but just felt the need to make sure! 😉
no dude! i ALWAYS warm my milk, even if im just eating cookies with it. they all taste better after the milk softens them up.
i can't stand warm milk, but I do very much like when crispier cookies are made deliciously soft by dipping in (cold) milk. yummmm i want cookies.

might be a cultural thing, ppl in china warm everything. i remember when i asked for a cup of ice water in china last summer, the waitress looked at me like i just ordered a side of cyanide. in fact, they didnt even offer water, only hot tea, and warm soda(ewww)

BAHAHA :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I agree with the cultural theory tho

Whoa, back to the INTJ conversation from last night, I had no idea how rare that personality type was. And yet, there are so many INTJ's on our thread lol.

yup supposed to be only 2 percent of the population. waaaay overrepresented on sdn

I'm at Penn right now, I don't think there's many students that would be able to afford a condo in University City or anywhere remotely okay in Philadelphia. You should not buy unless you are planning to stay for 7+ years. There will a few waves of foreclosure crisis (probably not in Philly). Factoring that in + the unlikelyhood of being able to buy a 2BR to rent a room out + interest payments = its not a good idea to buy unless you are in it for the long haul.

I think making the downpayment is the easy part for most people.

I totally agree. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. There is no way I could skip it.
+1. Best food is pancakes, followed closely by the cheese danish.

Is it weird that I warm my milk for cereal?
I only like warm milk if it's in hot chocolate. and it has to be 2%+

There's been at least two personality type polls on SDN and in both of them INTJs are waaaay overrepresented. Must mean we make the best doctors😀.

and condo maintenance fees in Philly is pretty high.

I like U. City and I like center city. I would live in those areas. There are ppl that commute from Jersey or Mainline (though rare)

Thought you all might find this article interesting...

"Scientists work to keep hackers out of implanted medical devices"
http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/04/16/medical.device.security/index.html

Didn't know those devices can be remotely controlled, I'd imagine they can be hacked just as easily as the article described. Encryption is the easiest solution, but it won't help much if the computer is hacked.

Also, I probably shouldn't laugh at this, but :roflcopter:😆:

"She referenced a case from 2008 in which a hacker reportedly tried to induce seizures in epilepsy patients by putting rapidly flashing images on an online forum run by the Epilepsy Foundation."

1) Pancakes 👍. Cheese danish 👎. My current favorite breakfast is a cranberry orange scone. Mmmmm...

2) Must mean that! Haha... 😀

And the other good thing about being INTJ... Being called a Mastermind. I like it. 🙂

Just fired off a "pay me or I may not come" to Loyola.
