today is going by so slooooooooooooowly
9600![]()
Well you guys tell me, I just got an email sent to those with "multiple acceptances", the other one I hung onto was their big competitor, UIC. And at the end of the attached letter was this (in bold AND italics):
"We of course hope that you will decide that Loyola is the best "match"
for you, and encourage you to let us know if there is anything we can do to assist you in making your decision."
...so I told them, lol "We need mo monah!"
and condo maintenance fees in Philly is pretty high.
I like U. City and I like center city. I would live in those areas. There are ppl that commute from Jersey or Mainline (though rare)
. The stupid maintenance fees are the reason apt rental rates are high to begin with
wow, that's way nicer than the email i got from NYU re: multiple acceptances. no "dear dw2158" or anything. subject line: NYU school of medicine holding multiple acceptances.
...how you post THREAD ?

just relax, first..... 😎how you post THREAD ?

Hmm I haven't received any of the multiple acceptances being held emails at all! Guess I've got some emails to expect soon?
I've been going through the whole rent/leasing an apt vs. buying a condo and comparing the monthly mortgage fees to rental fees.
Ugh 🙂 Looks like if you can make the down payment, then the condo is a better choice than an apt.... apparentlyBut man, these realtors are SHARKS
I've heard it's not worth buying unless you are planning on staying for longer than 5 years.

yup supposed to be only 2 percent of the population. waaaay overrepresented on sdn
True, assuming you can afford to pay that mortgage plus another (or rent) wherever you move.I just might be if I do an MD/MBA
besides... I could always rent it out![]()
That and not planning on staying here are why I'm renting.According to that thing, if your rent is super cheap you are almost never better off buying.

and on another note, good show on the homestarrunner references last night (strongbad, marzipan, trogdor, etc.). That took me back to high school. homestarrunner is awesome and I loooove Teen Girl Squad! I had to watch a few episodes after you guys put up the youtube videos!
OH my god, HRS was the best. i still make strongbad jokes from time to time. fhqwhgads is a great song.

yea, unless the market is expected to appreciate significantly
and the only places that could possibly do that is places that are currently cheap & exponentially increasing in population (ie Atlanta/Dallas/Minnesota)
or if the market is rock bottom (Miami-Florida/Michigan/Arizona). However, they might not appreciate quick enough.
I would definitely not buy in most other places, unless I was staying there for 8 years or more and didn't have to take out loans (ie MSTP). From what I know, most MSTP students at Penn do not recommend buying there either, even in their situation.
Of course, if you are getting a huge parental support or have a huge savings from a previous career/job, then the scenario could be different I guess
Yes!! I remember HSR! There was some other really good animated video website too that I remember frequenting in high school... Can you recall its name?

I have a hilarious story from high school having to do with HSR/teen girl squad: I was sitting in my economics class, super bored and decided to draw the bottomless pit from teen girl squad in my notes. I also included the quote, "When you fall into a bottomless pit, you die of starvation". My teacher saw that I was doodling so he walked over, picked up my notes, and read the quote to the entire class. Everyone, including the teacher himself, laughed their asses off. I didn't get into trouble because it was sooo funny. The teacher just said you'd probably die of thirst first, which is probably true.
