Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Biochem 2 (required for biochem majors). Boring material + hard class + extreme apathy/laziness for last semester = oops.

I needed to get a 42 on the final to pass without a curve. I'm pretty sure I did that. But I'm still worried.

This. Except my required classes are online, which makes it even more difficult. Motivation fail. 🙁

Ah, god! I can't shake the feeling that I haven't done enough to try and get off my waitlists. I just sent updates, should I send post-update updates ?

After working at one of the best hospitals in the country for four years, I feel well qualified to evaluate the most important features of a hospital's work environment. Thankfully, my future school's brand new medical center exceeds my expectations in the areas that matter most... Ample on site parking, amazing caffeteria, and a delicious gourmet coffee cart that is open late. 3rd and 4th year are gonna be great 😀

I will be visiting you guys a lot.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the boy I just started seeing😀

I still think you will be there with us, Cougs (I know, I know... but when the time comes you will decide to stay). Good things come in threes, and dbeast and I are only two.

:hello: The thread was slipping! Couldn't let that happen.

Officially done with all my classes/exams. All I have to do is graduate!

How is everyone?

Congrats! It must feel great to finally be done. Woohoo, summer time! 🙂

I don't believe summer exists. It's a fantasy imagined by people who long for an end to the craptacular weather we've had so far. /grumpy

I'm doing alright! Had a nice day--finally met with my PI so we could talk about her writing me an LOR for PBK scholarship! 🙂 That was a load off my shoulders..now I'm just laying in my bed, tired and wanting to sleep. Thankfully no work tomorrow, but also no plans/nothing to do! *womp womp*

Woo! Congrats! Hope you get it 🙂

That sucks not having plans, but on the bright side you're not going to work? If I were close by I'd totally entertain you.

Aww definitely would be fun, and the thought is much appreciated!! My work schedule has been so up in the air that it is frustrating!

First I was scheduled to work starting Sunday. I get a call on Friday saying "oh your job is on hold now, we won't be working Sunday or Monday for that matter. We'll call you on Monday to let you know when the cycle will start." I didn't get a call today...*sigh*

Missed this the first time around. Congratulations! :hardy: Time for a celebration.

Good luck! :xf:

Bleah. That sucks. Hang in there, trio!

I made an EPIC to do list for my final 6.5 weeks of work. It's pretty intense. and terrifying. [wrapping up two studies, training two new coordinators, AND responding to reviews on a manuscript submission - to name a few things]

I got to cross something off already though, so that's awesome.

I don't have my financial aid information yet though, STILL 😡

I'm having issues too. For some reason I have to refresh every page to get it to show new threads/posts, which has never been the case.

Same here! I have the final for my online biochem class Friday, and I really need to find the motivation to study.

Also, the course isn't even required for the school I ended up deciding on, so part of me just wants to drop out. But I paid my tuition dollars, so I want to at least get my money's worth. If that makes sense.

Same - though it seems to be fixed as of this morning.

Yeah, it's been all weird for me, even earlier this morning. I thought it was just a sign from the internet gods telling me to get my butt off SDN. I guess not. 😛

Worst injury you've all had.... GO!

For me, getting stung by a 8 ft portugese man of war at age 11 and being a scrawny kid was no bueno. Ended up in the hospital because the sting actually partially paralyzed me for 5 hrs. Fun stuff

Runner up is the car accident I was in on the day of my high school graduation. My sister was driving the car as we were headed to pick up my best friend so he could go to the graduation. She hit a parked mail truck about 20 seconds after leaving our house at around 35 mph. Trouble was, I hadn't fully gotten my seatbelt up. It flung up and smacked me dead in the neck and cracked my voicebox. Supposedly if I had been hit much harder, talking would have been a challenge for the rest of my life

thanks for the tips maubs, it worked.

i've had a few injuries.

i was probably 11 years old and i was sledding with my little sister and her friend. we were all having a very buddy buddy day so we wanted to all ride together instead of on separate sleds. we had this really long purple sled that could fit all of us, so we hike to the top of the hill and get in and start gaining speed. i'm sitting in the front of the sled trying to steer. it's incredibly hard to steer a sled with 3 people on it. my steering failed and i couldn't bail because my little sister was holding on to me... result, my balls hit a mailbox post at full speed. i screamed bloody murder and my mom came running outside. my groin was bruised every color of the rainbow.

I was going to post, but there is no need. Cliff "wins," no contest 😱

Uh oh, I may have to bust out my "braces movie theater incident." There are those who know what this means and I think that will put me in the running for the gold medal :meanie:.

I got hit by a car when I was 17. Left tib/fib fracture. My tibia was almost in 3 pieces. I lost the lead role in my last high school play and got to rock one of those black orthopedic walking boots at my senior prom 2 months later. That thing made this like cotton eyed Joe really hard to do.

That's a good one cliff 😱

I've broken a wrist and a leg (both snowboarding), which didn't really hurt that bad until the next day believe it or not.

My worst was being pulled behind a car on a skateboard, bailing at ~30mph and having the entire left half of my body covered in road rash. Wasn't wearing a helmet either so I'm reaaaaaally lucky. Best part is I go into my parents room mummified in bloody toilet paper, my dad's asleep so I wake him up and he says "Ahhh you're fine". Next morning, he takes one look and goes "WTF happened to you?!". Brought me to the hospital and the doctor proceeds to point out all the places I should've gotten stitches if we hadn't waited all night to bring me in. Now I have a big hole in my left elbow, thanks dad.

I thought we were talking physical injury, not emotional one... :meanie:

i've broken a few bones, but none of the stories really tell that well so i went with the sled haha.

Raff you have the weirdest freak accidents. Like the time you hit your elbow on something and it made you lose consciousness.

Haha, that one is a doozy.

I really don't have any cool injury stories 🙁

You are light-years ahead of the rest of us in this contest. But I'm not sure that a medal is appropriate--maybe copious amounts of alcohol.

I've never had any major injuries, thankfully, but a few minor ones: a couple of sprained knees (one rollerblading, one bowling), a couple of sprained ankles, beaned near my right eye orbit with a baseball, whacked on the back of the head with a golf club, and a superball hitting bouncing off of the down under region. So...fun times.

Most of my biggest injuries were typical sports injuries; nothing too exciting. But I have one that totally sucked. When I was about 4 years old, my family was at a party at some friends' house, and all of us kids were upstairs playing games in the rec room. One of the things in the room was a treadmill, and everyone thought it was really fun to turn it on really slow and walk around on it. (The things that seem cool when you're little kids.) Well when it was my turn, I step on it, and out of nowhere this evil brat of a girl (who last I heard flunked out of med school in the Caribbean somewhere, suck it be-yotch) turns the treadmill up all the way to top-speed. Well of course I totally fall down, and both shins were completely skinned from my ankles to my knees. Like I basically had no skin there at all, it was just a huge bloody mess. It was terrifying. I had scars on my legs for a few years. And I still hate treadmills.

Only I have no problems with the water. Smashed a few fingers and toes along the way, once had a sunburn that blistered. Really no major injuries.

Slipped by the pool when I was in about 5th grade and fell right onto my front teeth. One had to be replaced, and the other got a root canal. Having the pulp extracted out of your dead tooth is both painful and terrifying haha

Don't even freaking say that. If I end up having to make a choice...it will not be here. It will NOT. Dammit.
It feels fantastic. Also, the weather is amazing. Love love love summer. 🙂
Yay!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on being done🙂

Was standing next to a see-saw when I was 4. Kid jumped on the other end. The end near me flipped up and hit me in the face; knocked two of my teeth up into my sinus and they had to be removed. My face was smashed. To this day my doctor advises that I should avoid activities where balls fly at my face.
