Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If I was born and raised in a big city I could probably not be so shocked at real estate prices, but I honestly couldn't see myself living in an urban area long-term knowing what I could have in a suburb or less urban area for the same cost. The price differences are too substantial.

I'm the flip side of you. The prices don't faze me and I'd rather live in the city than in a suburb. Blecch. 🙂

How goes the studies for everyone?

It's good times, man. Good times.

I would also like to add this gem. I first saw this video... 4 years ago. It still makes me laugh to this day.

"brovis?" 🙄 --> "6.5inches?" 😱 --> "oh, I get it, it's a parody" :laugh: --> ok, I'm not laughing anymore and it's still going on :lame:

I didn't find it very funny after I watched it two or three times, but I do genuinely like the music (crappy as it is).

Hahaha that is a genius clip.

I'm sure you've all seen my boy Ken Jeong from knocked up?

I have kinda gone on a baby-prep/cleaning rampage this weekend. I feel like I'm on a roll and I kinda wish I didn't have to go to class tomorrow. Tomorrow I think I'm going to vacuum the car and install the infant seat before I pick up Chicklet from daycare. And I think I'm going to wipe down the baby swing with Lysol.

If only I knew where the damn cover for the bouncy chair went. 😡

I knew there was something I was supposed to do today....

I believe paragraph 3 might explain the behavior in paragraphs 1-2.

Just maybe.

It's a possibility. It sneaks up on me, too. I'll be in the bathroom like, "Man, I should wipe off the mirror and clean the toilet."

Ten minutes later I'm scrubbing the tub and cleaning/alphabetizing the medicine cabinet.

Shouldn't you have a guy or something to help you with that baby so you can focus on your studies! 😀

Also, who would want to pay California prices to live in Chicago?...

Those were always Chicago prices.

The father typically doesn't "nest" like the mother does. He did put the crib together and do some of the laundry, though. He's mostly just like, "Halp! She keeps making me do s***!" 😛

Studying for an 80-hours-of-lecture quiz that makes up 5% of my grade...

Theoretically, I could zero this test and still get an A...

Biochemistry, ahhhhhhhhhhhh. 🙁

Test's over.

Anatomy was anticlimatic. How many questions about spina bifida and lumbar punctures and fractures can you ask?

Biochem was anticlimatic. Blah blah streptomycin blah blah GLUT-4 blah blah acidosis.

Histo was... annoying. None of the time I spent identifying erythropoiesis and leukopoiesis paid off. Instead they asked random questions about GFAP intermediate filaments and Rb/Cyclin regulation... This has to be the most biochemical histo class ever.

i can just fail my exam tomorrow and be done with it.

I am sick of studying. and feeling like I have memorized nothing.

it's only worth 20% of my total grade.... 🙁

Perfect time to BE ON A BOAT I'M JUST SAYIN'.

Does anyone else feel like they've been in med school for much longer than it's really been or is it just me?

Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets hungry after an anatomy lab.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets hungry after an anatomy lab.

Nope.

I usually throw in a food joke each lab. Not my fault the fat and fascia we were scooping out of the posterior abdominal wall looked like tuna salad....

Sure would like some onions with those livers? What about the oysters of the back (to quote Hannibal)? 😀

Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets hungry after an anatomy lab.

We talk about food too in lab and sometimes just get the munchies for some comfort food to deal with all the stress. It's amazing how quickly you forget that your elbow is resting on a donor cadaver's head and that you're spreading fascia of a human being.

I am usually hungry all the time, so yes, on my first day in anatomy lab [about an hour in to the 4 hour lab], i started talking about food.

It's barely been a week and it feels like I've been doing this forever.

I'm in week 6 and I honestly feel exhausted...I'm trying not to think about how I will feel around wintertime, or spring of next year...

I feel refreshed and focused again, but then I just got sick. So we'll see. But I was thinking about that the other night - it's so intense already, how will we keep this up for another semester let alone two, three more years?

It's been about 2 months for me and I'm just now realizing things don't ease up. You have to attack the damn material like you're at war with it.

Also, I'm living on energy drinks *sigh*.

"We have always been at war with Eastasia."

I feel ya Sun. I could use a week in Cabo right about now.

4 hour anatomy lab doesn't sound very fun. We have shorter, 2 hour labs and I'm always ready to GTFO near the end.

This has been such a weird week. I know it is early, but a specialty that I thought I had no interest in just became the front-runner.

i was like... is this the 2016er club? so many 2015ers in here....
:whoa:

Do you want to share with the rest of the class, young lady?
