Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Internal Medicine.

I need a ton of med school/anatomy/medicine cartoons from you guys...you're so much better at that stuff than I am.
IM? What the what? Tell me more/miss you on gchat/need to gossip about the drama in my life.
...I'm pretty sure I will develop scurvy in med school
Yes you will. And beriberi and pellagra and those other vitamin deficiencies that I haven't gotten around to studying yet.

Scurvy only affects pro/lys hydroxylases which +OH on the pro/lys of alpha chains of procollagen... -> Pirate Syndrome...

Constellation of hydroxylase mutation leads to collagen deficiency, but still retain elastin -> Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome...

Copper deficiencies affect lysyl oxidase which forms allysine, crosslinking with collagen and elastin... -> Osteoporosis and Menkes Disease...

Defects in Fibrillin, crosslinking elastin only -> Marfan syndrome....

I just ate a box of chips ahoy!

If I wanted a Histo/Cell Bio lecture... I'd go to lecture.

Don't worry. Unlike kittens, babies do not have claws.

every week I pay Alisha Smith to come over and spank me

but actually those threads panicking about disciplinary actions on transcripts for cheating/drugs always with some excuse are a huge pet peeve of mine

Oh, darn. I was expecting something more magical like SDN mod business.

Just took my first med school exams :scared:

Time to go kill my brain and liver cells.

by far the most pretentious movie I've ever seen, but also by far one of the best if you can make it through the artsy(?) beginning. Deserved the Palm d'Or for shor

hmmm...the simultaneous insignificance and magnificence of human life, the dual power/rage and fragility of the male ego...just life, period. It was really good.

This sounds like another The Fountain or Revolutionary Road.

Can someone tl;dr the "I kissed my student host" thread for me? I'm mildly interested to see what people have been talking about for 7 pages, but I don't have the patience to read it.

It's both a fun and infuriating read. It goes by fast.

Basically OP is bragging but did nothing wrong. One poster called her a slut and that kissing a man other than your husband/future husband is immoral. Also said that homosexuality is ruining society. Ensue s*** storm and arguing with a close minded individual with a conservative "Christian" world view, but really is a ruse to foster hatred towards women and homosexuals and not true Christian equality and love.

I can't believe some of you are finished with Anatomy already! My anatomy class will stretch until winter break, and then finally finish up with Neuroanatomy during our first systems block (Neuro) in the spring.

We finish with anatomy in... 3-4 weeks I think. I'm giddy with excitement.

At my school, anatomy stretches on forever :lame: It goes up to the end of first year then we dissect the pelvic region during reproduction 2nd year.

for..... evar.

I think we will really appreciate the better integration though, and the fact that stretching it over a long time will force us to remember it and not just instantly forget it. But it does really suck to see everyone else finishing it and moving on to more interesting things

:scared:

That's a little scary. I'm not sure what kind of stories they could possibly have... I wasn't bangin' seven gram rocks Charlie Sheen style at interviews.

:scared:
The common theme is "I was at my interview at (michigan, prizker, etc.) and people were whispering 'that's the coleontheroll guy' and I was like who's that and then saw SDN/MDApps." Nothing super creepy. People just recognized you from the internets. Also one of my friend said he was trolling you on SDN, which I thought was weird.

when he interviewed at my school, i walked by the window of the admissions office to see what he looked like. i mean cmon he is like the celebrity of 2015 med students. dont make it weird.

I only have 4 months of Anatomy and 4 months of Neuro! 😀

Can't wait until my laundry basket doesn't smell of formaldehyde.

I like anatomy lab. Does that make me weird?

Definitely not. I think if some things about it were different I would actually enjoy it. Cutting is cool... I just don't find it to be a very useful way to use time, at least how it's done here.

I agree with the inefficient usage of time aspect, I just think dissecting is fun and it's amazing how much variation there is between different donors. For example, my donor didn't have a right coronary artery. Like, whaaat? We didn't just cut it off, the prof spent 10 minutes looking for it on our heart, and couldn't find its origin or anything.

Plus, reference the Facebook group for the other reason I have fun in anatomy. 😎
