I was just looking at admission statistics for a medical school and it said that there were 61 students already accepted in the class of 2018. This may be a stupid question but does this statistic mean that the class of 2018 has already been chosen and is closed? I'm just really confused.

Yes, class of 2018 is currently in the middle of their first year. 2019 is the one currently interviewing and starting in the fall.
