Hello! I have several questions about applying. I have majorit of my volunteering hours (broken down below) in clinical volunteering. Is there a preference between clinical and non clinical? Also, I will only have 1 year of research experience at about 5-7 hours per week by the time I apply. Based on my ECs and stats below, how realistic is it to apply only MD. Also, what else can i strengthen? (I’m a nurse applying to medical school for many reasons)

Major: Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing

cGPA: 3.7
sGPA: 3.6
MCAT: 510

Patient Exposure:
-1 year as CNA (400 hours)
-1 year as MA
-1.5 years as nurse in medical ICU

Vokunteering:
-100 hours in ED
-200 hours with fraternity
-150 hours hospital end of life program
-120 hours medical internship in africa
-20 hours meals in wheels

leadership:
-president of student council when I was in nursing school
-executive committee in fraternity

Research:
-1 year at 5 hours per week

Shadowing:
-70 hours with several different physicians
Clinical hours look good but need more non-clinical hours for sure.

Do you believe my research experience is ok and I should focus mainly on non clinical experience going forward? Also, I admittedly didn’t know non clinical experience was an important part. I have about 20 hours of meals on wheels volunteering right now but it’s difficult to get a lot of hours in. How many experiences and hours would be a good goal to work towards?
Research not nearly as important as non clinical helping the less fortunate. Meals on Wheels is good but need more than 20 hours. Shoot for at least 150 hours.
