University at Buffalo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University at Buffalo has a 5th-year position (PGY-5) out of a six-year training program available. A PGY-3 in a 4-year program is also eligible to apply. Applicants must have completed two years of OMS training from a CODA approved OMS program. This position is sponsored by the School of Dental Medicine and conducted jointly with the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and three University-affiliated hospitals (Erie County Medical Center, Kaleida Health, and Veterans Administration Medical Center).
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service admits approximately 450 patients per year, with particular strengths in trauma, orthognathic and dentoalveolar surgery. There are approximately 10,000 outpatient visits to the service each year.
