What's your point? Was there something specifically interesting about the article?

Valley Fever has been around for decades; its even fair subject matter for Step 1 (although admittedly those of us growing up in the central valley were probably familiar with it before med school).

There are worse things in life (like living in Coalinga). 😀
 
I see cocci ALL THE TIME- in fact it's probably the #1 cause of E. nodosum or E. multiforme that I see. Also, last year, 21y/o healthy hispanic guy with URI Tx at urgent care a month prior, now has ulcer on upper lip that was "I + D"ed by urgent care (I thought clinical HSV)- Bx- COCCI! (hematogenous spread to skin- rare but happens)
 
Check the JAAD (Blue journal) about 6 months ago for an EXCELLENT review of Cocci if anyone is interested

For this guy his few months prison sentence became a death sentence. I don't know what he did to land himseld in prison but I'm sure he didn't deserve to die for it. Just had to vent.

I know it's been on the boards I actually recall a question that appeared on my step 2 about a family traveling threw bakersfield.

Ahh...gotcha. I didn't read the article that clearly. Makes sense now that you've explained it.

That's the only way to Bako...straight through and don't stop (and keep the windows rolled up so you don't get Coccidio)!😀

That's ridiculous. Next time an inmate drops dead of an MI, we can say he "didn't deserve to die" from eating unhealthy prison bologna.
