Columbia MPH

Hi everyone,

Was wondering if anyone has been accepted into Columbia's MPH program. I'll be graduating from Medical School in June, and wish to postpone my residency to pursue the MPH. The only problem is, as per Columbia's website, they receive 1400 applications, and only accept half! So, if I postpone my residency and DON"T get into the program, I'll be in big trouble....Should I apply anyway and miss the 2007 match or forget the MPH for now and get a residency? Any thoughts or advice are greatly appreciated.

with an MD it is almost guaranteed that you will end up in an MPH program at one of the top schools (especially harvard and JHU which love ppl with advanced degrees)
