Don't let that get you down. I was rejected 3 years in a row before I was accepted to dental school and now I am graduating in 2 months. You will get in!

Best of luck

No, I did not get an interview b/c I am a late applicant, I applied in Feb 02'. Still hopeful on other schools though. Best of luck and thanks for the input.

MYDDSDREAM,
Don't feel depress! Let me say something to make you feel more confident.
I don't know how old are you. For me, I am 28. Just start taking pre-dental courses and
apply next year. You have plenty of time to do it again and nock the school you are really
interested in. Keep a word in mind, "Never be beat!"
Do you see the previous post? Dr. PopBa applied for 3 years and finally, he got in!
Believe me. You can make it!

Don't be sad. Just think that it's their lost. Hey, I was rejected too. But I have made lots of improvement. I don't let other people bother or depress me. Just keep on working hard and believe it or not, your time will come. Just hang tough in there.
Best of luck

Hey, who wants to live in the ghetto anyways? Columbia is not worth the money and all the agrevation you are put though there. All of the first and second year students hate it there and some are very bitter toward the school. This is not a pleasent environment to produce dental proffesionals. The competition there is so high that you would have to cover your notes not to give anyone an advantage. I like to study in groups so this may even be discouraged be the competition because individual achievement goes first. Also they don't start clinic till the third year so they are very slow in most procedures. All of their students need to do AEGD or GPR who want to be general practitioners because of their lack of confidence. What kind of ivy league standard is that? One student even told me durring lunch, "If your not going to specialize, then don't come here!" And he ment it. The only reason I would go there is for the name and after visiting them I really don't think its worth it. Tufts is a much better school with better facilities and location. Also if anyone is interviewing there and gets Dr. Adler good luck, he is a real piece of work.

but what if penn doesn't want me and i am forced to go there :( :( <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

I was told that Columbia students are often spoken down to, because the school caters to the MD's; is this true??

I got rejected by Columbia too. Woo hoo! I went to the interview. Those bastards made me fly out there. You're better off w/o them. I know a grad from there and he told me it's cut throat. Don't bother asking your peers for help with anything. They'll just laugh in your face and steal your girlfriend. Apparently, dental students are mixed with the med students. So, you're basically doing what the med students are doing plus some extra stuff for dental. Even the med students think that's crazy because you're doing more work than them. That's what a current student said when I was up there. Everyone agrees that the first 2 yrs there are hell.
