Does anyone know how the comlex scores correlate to the usmle scores?
For instance, an ok score on COMLEX is a 500. And the usmle is, from what I have gathered, is a 200.

So do those two numbers correlate to one another. COMLEX 500=USMLE 200?

Thanks in advance.

COMLEX is scored this way: Mean of 500, SD of 79
USMLE is (usually) scored this way: Mean of 217, SD of 23

So, COMLEX 500 is roughly equivalent to USMLE of 217, in that both these scores fall at the middle of the standardized distribution curve.

No actual comparison can be made between the two tests, however. Plenty of people perform poorly on one and very well on another. Also, it is shady to try and reason what your equivalent USMLE score would be, given your COMLEX score. They just dont match up that well.

I know, its like comparing apples to oranges. I just wanted a generalized idea. Being that I have not taken the USMLE I have no idea how its scored.

Yhanks for the info, take care.
