Could you explain your experiences with taking college courses during HS? My worst grades were from then...do they still count?

I did something similar, but took like 40 credits in highschool...🙂? 🙁 ? At the time I had NO CLUE that CC credits were looked 'down upon'...and ended up taking several requirements there (bio1&2, chem1&2, and eng1&2) getting A's in all of them....then, thinking I was sitting pretty, I went to university advisor and she was not so happy that I had done that. However, after some time, I realized that taking those classes DURING hs was awesome; I dont see why you would be 'punished' for getting ahead...

(1) Will the fact that I took a requirement-eng (at least, for some schools) be bad? Maybe it helps that I "backed it up: (oh yeah, I got A's in all of the above classes).
It shows that you did not take classes at cc for an easy way out (which is what they are looking for, imo)...and that you could have handled the pre-req's at university, so yes, that helps 👍

I really have no clue, but I am thinking NO....that the school you finished at will come up as your university. After taking ~30 credits at my university I am considered a 'resident' of the school...

Also, make sure you remember transcripts from the cc when doing app's 🙂

I think it will hurt you if you didn't take advanced classes in those subjects at your university, but otherwise it should be fine.

Thanks for your responses. I have not taken any more English classes at my university (beyond the second semester of writing). I am just concerned that the higher ranked (although, not top 10) schools will just chuckle at me...

I wouldn't think it matters. Calc is not required for most schools (but a couple do), but if you took calc IV at your university and did well it shows that you can cut it (and besides your WAY ahead of the game because I only know of a few schools that require calc specifically and it only goes to Calc II). For English I did the exact same thing and it was never a problem.

I don't understand what you mean by this. You report all schools you have gone to for AMCAS but it will show that you are attempting a degree at your University not the JC.

Thanks guys, much appreciated
