Committee letter of recommendation request

Is it required that I send an evaluation request to my undergrad university's prehealth committee for my application to receive their letter or recommendation? It only states within their email to candidates, "release your information within the application portal to the institution advisor."

Im not 100% sure the policy, but when I wanted a committee letter I had to first set up a meeting with the advisor to make sure of my eligibility. Id email and ask your advisor just in case
