Just thought I'd put up a new thread on common MCAT answer traps. Can be for any section, but please be specific on how you fell for it.

Also, are there any "stupid" errors that you find yourself making consistently?

A common problem for me is applying M1V1=M2V2. For example, given 500mL of a 1M HCL solution and adding 100mL of 2M acid, I often forget to set V2 to 600mL and end up with a concentration that is too high.

The one that always gave me trouble was when there was an answer choice that technically expressed a true statement but didn't actually respond to the question.

I do this all the time. It has to do with working too fast to try to beat the clock.
